Microsoft urges Windows 10 users to upgrade their systems & privacy settings

In the Windows 10 Creators Update rollout from April, Microsoft implemented new privacy controls and a revised UI so that users could enjoy more options with regard to how the OS handles their data.

New privacy settings

A new screen will be displayed in the forthcoming weeks that will ask users to review their privacy settings even if they won’t  actually get the Creators Update. The company assures users they won’t be forced to download the new OS despite the privacy screen. The message will pop up for a maximum number of five times, and we still don’t know what’s going to happen if you keep dismissing it.

Besides the new privacy settings, Microsoft will also try to convince users of old versions of Windows 10 to upgrade their operating systems. You should be aware that the original version of Windows 10 launched back in 2015 has reached the end of service, and the company wants the systems still running it to be updated to a newer version. The new releases include the November Update, the Anniversary Update, and the Creators Update.

The company assures users they can continue to use the current version of Windows and their computers will still work. The only thing is that they will no longer receive monthly quality updates with protection from the latest security threats. To still get them, they have to upgrade to the latest features.

Windows 10 Creators Update is still being rolled out and users will get it when their systems are ready to receive it.
