Microsoft offered Windows Insiders a new glimpse into the upcoming Redstone 5 OS features. Well, to be honest, we’re not sure if this update will still be called Redstone 5 by the time it gets released, but what we do know is that it will offer a series of interesting UI design changes.
Windows 10 build 17650 brings a new Fluent Design UI for the Windows Defender Security Center. Microsoft adjusted the spacing and padding around the app which will now dynamically size the categories on the main page. So, if more room is needed for extra information, the WDSC can adjust accordingly.
If you download this build release, you’ll also notice that Microsoft updated the title bar of the app so as to use your accent color if you’ve enabled that option in Color Settings. As a quick reminder, when you enable Sets, you should see this accent color option in the WDSC tab.
Windows Defender Security Center offers you the latest antivirus protection
The WDSC is a reliable alternative to expensive antivirus solutions. This tool shows you in real time how Windows Defender protects your device. It displays a series of useful information about the last time you scanned your computer for threats, whether you’re running the latest virus update definitions or not, as well as data about your PC’s health to make sure that your machine is operating as it should. The WDSC also allows you to schedule malware scans in order to keep your computer safe.
If you opted for the Skip Ahead option and you already tested this build release, tell us more about your new WDSC experience in the comments below.
