You now have the possibility to schedule various web pages to open automatically using the Open Me Later! extension for Chrome. If you’re planning on revisiting a website later, then you might think that the most obvious solution would be to bookmark it. While this is the first step, it won’t be of much help in case you forget about the link or the place you saved it.

Open Me Later!

Open Me Later! is a free Chrome extension that enables you to schedule a web page to open automatically by specifying the desired time and date. By default, this works with the current page. All you have to do is tap the address bar icon, set a date and time, go to Open Me Later and your page will be added to the scheduled list.

The extension’s advantages

The pages can optionally be opened in a new tab or window to become the active window. While it can be annoying to have your tab suddenly switched, the extension can save you time by opening a common set of work-related tabs at a specific time of day, for instance. You’ll be able to set up pages to open daily or weekly according to your choice of days.

The extension’s limitation

The extension also features a major limitation: you won’t be able to apply different settings to each item beyond its initial time and date. It would have been better to have URL#1 open in a new tab every day and URL#2 to open in a new window every Sunday, instead.
