If you weren’t already aware, know that the Redmond-based tech giant recently announced that they will be updating the SharePoint site creation experience.

This initiative was brought into existence in order to make it easier for site creators to select the right type of SharePoint site, but also understand roles and site permissions.

The updates will include refreshed graphics, expanded site descriptions, and additional context for different permission levels in the Site permissions panel.

A new experience for site creators is on its way

Naturally, this will impact the site creation process for end-users that create sites from the SharePoint start page, as well as for admins that create sites from the admin center.

What’s even better is that this updated site creation experience was specifically designed to help site creators quickly understand the differences between a communication site and a team site.

Of course, the above-mentioned updates will also include some improvements to the site permissions panel, making it easier for site owners and members to easily understand the differences between permission levels.

So, all users that want some more details before proceeding will be able to hover over the information icon for more details.

The update is rolling out now and should reach all tenants by mid-January 2022. Some users may see this feature before other users within the same organization.
