Microsoft has already made possible for users to send and receive SMS text from their PC using Cortana on Android. Now, they are taking a step forward on this ground, developing an app called Digital Assistant.
Cortana has lots of features embedded on Android, competing in the battle of the digital voice assistants. It’s not unusual for digital assistants to communicate on an integrated platform. But, all this work in progress needs time and we know there are certain limitations. Microsoft is now testing the market with the Digital Assistant and we share the news of a particular feature.
Cortana can read out loud your messages
This feature can be enabled by default as long as your device is connected via Bluetooth to another device. Thus, it comes really helpful when driving your car and you receive a text. Your new assistant, Cortana will read out loud your message so you can keep your eyes on the road.
If you have privacy concerns it’s recommended not to install the app as all your SMS will be read aloud with asking for your confirmation. Although, you can configure or completely turn off the feature when it’s not the right time for messages to be read out loud. Just keep in mind and don’t let it get you by surprise.
The feature is in beta at the moment, but if you are curious you can become a tester you can get it from the Google Play Store. Give it a go and let us know in the comments below how useful do you think it is.
