Go to Search, type regedit, and open Registry Editor

Navigate to the following path:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Appx

Right-click on Appx folder and choose Permissions

Check Full Control to take the full ownership of this registry folder

Now, right click on PackageRoot and choose Modify

Now just choose the new path for download location and enter it to Value data:

Users report that this workaround doesn’t work in Windows 8.1, but I tested it in Windows 10, and I didn’t have any problems.
