Some Windows 10, Windows 8, Windows 7 users have stumbled upon some VGA issues, either they get a black screen at the start of the PC or laptop or they just can’t get into their desired games in Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 10. For this reason, we compile this list of solutins on how you can solve VGA problems and improve your Windows 10, 8, 7 experience.
After changing the PC or laptop display settings, we might encounter some video problems. What you have to keep in mind though is that some VGA adapters will not support every option we want to use on Windows 8, 10. Let’s take for example the two monitor setting scenario that not all VGA configurations support or if a game you are trying to play has a much higher spec requirement then the VGA you have on you Windows 10, 8 system.
We also have the feature to change the screen resolution and refresh rate in Windows 10, 8 but if the VGA does not support the screen resolution you changed to, you will most likely get a black screen thus preventing you from using the Windows 8 PC or Laptop.
Fix VGA problems on Windows 10, 8, 7
1. Boot into Safe Mode
This tutorial explains how we can boot in Safe mode in order for Windows 10, 8 to load only the necessary video card drivers. This will help us change back the settings we have previously done and fix our video issue.
Note: You can access this feature even if you are not logged into your Windows 10, 8 account by clicking on the power icon button situated in the lower right corner of the screen and holding the Shift key pressed.
For more information on how to enter Safe Mode on your Windows computer, go to Microsoft’s support page.
2. Use an external HDMI monitor
If you have a laptop and you cannot get into Windows 10, 8, 7 because you have nothing on the screen, the first thing you need to do is connect the laptop to an external display via HDMI cable.
3. Use Windows 10’s built-in troubleshooter
Expert Tip: Some PC issues are hard to tackle, especially when it comes to corrupted repositories or missing Windows files. If you are having troubles fixing an error, your system may be partially broken. We recommend installing Restoro, a tool that will scan your machine and identify what the fault is.

If the issue persists, you can also run Windows 10’s built-in troubleshooters to fix it. Go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot > run the Hardware and Devices troubleshooter.
To run the hardware troubleshooter on other Windows versions, open Control Panel, type ‘troubleshoot’ in the search menu located in the upper right-hand corner and select Troubleshooting. Click on View All and select Hardware and Devices.
This is how you can fix your VGA issues on a Windows 10, 8, 7 PC or laptop, However if you have a hardware VGA issue, it is recommended to contact your Video Card manufacturer or PC manufacturer for more detailed help on the matter.
