E3 2016 is an event that definitely made many gamers extremely happy. Developers announced a huge number of new games and revealed impressive gameplay footage ahead of some of the most highly-anticipated releases. (Microsoft confirmed Halo Wars 2 during E3 and introduced its new Xbox One Slim, just to name a few.)

Another pleasant surprise comes from ReCore, which finally received a release date. The game was first introduced at E3 last year but the developer couldn’t meet the official launch date due to unforeseen events. Microsoft washed away the shame by announcing ReCore would be released for both Xbox One and Windows 10 on September 13.

The good news doesn’t stop here: ReCore is also part of the Xbox Play Anywhere program, allowing you to digitally purchase it once and play it on both Xbox One and Windows 10.

Microsoft also revealed a trailer for ReCore, which is actually a short presentation of each character combined with short gameplay scenes at the end of the trailer. Although the trailer doesn’t reveal much information about the game itself, it does impress with its lively soundtrack.

ReCore follows the journey of Joule Adams, a young survivor of a terrible cataclysm who leaves Earth and goes to Far Eden to build a new home for mankind. Joule wakes up after centuries in cryo-sleep and begins to explore the surroundings with her Corebot companion, Mack.

She soon learns things didn’t go according to plan, and she’ll have to defeat powerful enemies if she wants to bring new life and hope to Far Eden.

The Far Eden colony was meant to be a paradise where humans and Corebots could build a future together. Unfortunately, most of the Corebots have gone mad and the planet is no longer hospitable because of violent sandstorms.

ReCore brings fun and accessible combat but also deep, nerve-racking battles against massive boss creatures where you’ll have to come up with ingenious tactics and utilize split-second reactions if you want to win. Luckily, you can also use your Corebot’s unique abilities when in need.
