Rumors that Lenovo may have a Yoga Book 2 in the works have been floating around for a while now, and we’re finally bringing some exciting news because it turns out that they were correct. At Computex 2018 press conference, Lenovo confirmed the rumors and the fact that a dual-screen device is involved. They also displayed the device for the audience.
Lenovo Yoga Book 2 specs and features
It seems that Lenovo’s laptop will be light and ultra-thin and it will definitely have a dual-screen display. The computer will have a more powerful Intel processor, and it will provide enhanced inking and an AI-enabled keyboard.
Lenovo also mentioned a 3rd generation of the device that will presumably come out in 2019 and this one seems to be preparing an exciting foldable screen.
The system will be probably powered by Intel’s new Whiskey Lake U series and Amber Lake Y series of processors. The U series targets slim and portable laptops that aim at the mainstream or high-end market, and the Y series targets the thinnest laptops and tablets especially the devices that have been designed to run without a fan.
Microsoft is probably working on underlying support for the devices
Asus also announced its plans to release a dual-screen PC sometime during the next year. The announcement was also made during Computex, and the laptop concept is called Asus Precog. This is set to be a foldable device that can be used in various configs such as the laptop mode, the tent mode, entirely flat or stood up to resemble a dual-monitor PC setup.
The device will be probably released in 2019, and the company might be waiting for OS support coming from Microsoft before the big launch. Microsoft will also likely support the OS for Lenovo’s devices as well.
We can’t wait to see these innovative systems that will hit the market soon.
