New Plex UWP app for Windows 10 brings Continuum support

Plex is a client-server media player system and software that has two main components: Plex Media Server and Plex Player. The Plex Media Player can run on FreeBSD, Linux, Mac OS or Windows and organizes videos, photos and audio content. Also, the Plex Player connects to the media server and can play audio/video and open photos directly from the Plex Media Server.

In other words, if you have a Plex Media Server installed on a computer, if you connect to the same network using another computer or mobile device and use the Plex Player, you will be able to stream all the content that’s shared on the Plex Media Server.

It is good to know that there is also a premium version of the service called Plex Pass, which comes with some advanced features, such as access to cloud storage providers, synchronization with mobile devices, up to date and high quality metadata, multi-users mode, parental controls, access to high quality trailers and extras, wireless synchronization from mobile device to the server and more.

The Plex team recently released an UWP version of Plex app and it can now be downloaded and installed on devices running on Windows 10 and Windows 10 Mobile. In addition, the new Plex app supports Cortana and Continuum on certain Windows 10 Mobile devices.
