We know that many of you were probably still wondering when this functionality will finally hit live and we come bearing the good news you’ve been waiting for.
Apparently, Discord is finally rolling out the ability to connect your PlayStation Network account to the chat app, after making the announcement last year.
However, for the time being, this new integration is pretty limited, both in terms of what it can do and seemingly who has access to it, but it’s likely the first step for things to come later.
And since we’re talking about Discord, you might want to know that the team is also working on an interesting account management feature that we’d love to see make it to everyone.
PlayStation users can now link their accounts
Did you know that, by linking your accounts, your Discord friends will be allowed to see what game you’re currently playing on your PlayStation?
Not only that, you also have the option of adding your PSN ID to your Discord profile so that other people can easily add you to the service.
Judging by Discord’s announcement post, it may take some time before we can use this feature, as it’s gradually rolling out the ability to link your PSN account from Discord.
Developers responsible for the software tweak say it can take up to a week if you’re in the US, with other countries coming next week.
If you also want to link your PSN and Discord accounts, all you have to do is access the Settings menu, look for Connections and simply add the account.
This is excellent news for PlayStation/Discord users, as this functionality has been highly requested throughout these last years.
Furthermore, to make sure that account switching is as natural and fluent as could be, the company’s also been experimenting with a feature that would let you easily switch between available accounts.
Some users have spotted this ability on their Discord apps. However, this feature has only rolled out to a limited number of users, so don’t get your hopes up.
We’re just going to have to wait and see when this functionality will be added to the platform as well. Have you been waiting for the opportunity to link your PS account with Discord?
