Many Skype users can’t currently purchase Skype Credit or subscriptions due to a bug that’s blocking transactions. This issue has been affecting users since March 26 but the good news is that Microsoft’s engineers are working on a fix.

This is a rather isolated issue and affects only certain payment methods, as the Redmond giant explains:

Some users might be experiencing problems when trying to purchase Skype Credit or subscriptions. The problems might be limited to certain payment methods only.

Microsoft’s engineers have already identified the cause of this problem and they should be deploying a hotfix in the coming hours.

We have identified the cause of this incident and are actively working on fixing it.

If you really need to make Skype purchases, you can head over to Skype’s official website and manage your transactions straight from your account.

This credit and subscription bug is the only issue affecting Skype right now.

It is worth mentioning that general technical issues occurred rarer later compared to January and February, for example. Back then, Microsoft’s instant messaging and video platforms was unavailable for thousands of users days on end.
