  • There are plenty of Managed Service Providers (MSPs)  in the world, and most of them make use of Remote Monitoring and Management software (RMM).

The only problem is that you can’t just use any crummy old tool, especially since the Internet is full of them, and that is why we will be looking over one that we find to be extremely promising called Pulseway.

This entire article will act as a review for Pulseway, and we will be looking over its features, what it can do, who it can be of use to, whether it is worth getting or not.

    What is Pulseway?

Pulseway is a staple RMM platform that features advanced automation, an advanced patching engine, unlimited remote control, network discovery, and reporting, providing users with Backup, Endpoint Protection, and PSA tools for managing companies.

Back when it first appeared, Pulseway was designed to be used by I.T. departments and busy system administrators but quickly gained popularity among Managed Service Providers (MSPs) soon after launch.

In fact, it is rated as one of the best tools that one could use for Managed Service Providers (MSPs), IT departments, IT consultants and System Administrators.

Built as a mobile-first, cloud-first IT Monitoring, and Management software, Pulseway makes it possible to take care of all your IT needs from any device closest to you, regardless of your location, which is especially useful given the rise of remote work.

    What are Pulseway’s features?

In a nutshell, Pulseway is very useful for anyone that needs remote management and monitoring tools to evaluate the performance of all their systems, machines, and users, especially given how it can run on all servers and systems in any given data center.

    Monitor everything

Pulseway’s dashboard allows you to keep an eye on everything that is happening at any given moment within your system, and this includes workstations, servers, network devices, APIs and clouds.

The data that was received during our tests was in real-time, and the accessible UI of the client makes it easy to understand, although basic knowledge of RMM tools is needed.

In fact, using the tool was quite pleasant, since everything was neatly arranged where you would expect them to be, and as long as you knew what you needed to do, it was easy to find the tools that could help you.

Given the service’s availability on all major platforms, all of these assets can be monitored regardless of where you are physically, just as long as you have an Internet connection.

Improve the way you connect to your clients

Pulseway comes with a client portal that allows you to easily automate your end -user support. This means that you can create automated responses to common problems that guide the end user to a quick fix or solution.

This in turn reduces your support team’s workload and improves the time wasted in between problem reports and troubleshooting, thus improving efficiency.

This feature can also be automated to a certain degree via scripts and tasks when needed.

Lastly, you can customize the portal to highlight your company to all end users, making it more accessible and welcoming based on your target demographic.

Pulseway lets you know exactly what you need to know

No matter how great an interface looks, going back and forth between tabs to see how things are evolving can be tiresome, and that’s where Pulseway’s advanced notification features come in handy.

They are detailed compared to other asset management tools, and you can select services and scheduled tasks to manage.

    These include:

In fact, you have an entire Reporting tab where you can see everything that has incurred within your system within a given time-span, so even if you’re not there to see the data live, you will still be able to see it later.

    Access and control anything remotely

As stated previously, despite being a RMM software, Pulseway doesn’t limit itself to controlling just PCs from afar, as it can easily handle servers and cloud-based servers just as well.

    This range of control includes:

    Automation makes things easier

You can set up an advanced IT automation workflow that will closely monitor everything and resolve any IT issues automatically right after they happen.

The auto-remediation will be triggered after the error or issue happens, without the need of human interference. This way, the possibility of downtime is reduced to 0.

Having an automated troubleshooting process will greatly benefit the company because it will help avoid unexpected downtime, resulting in more time allocated to the things that matter.

Pulseway also lets you automate tasks and set predefined triggers for scripts to launch and perform tasks by themselves.

To get you started, Pulseway comes with a lot of pre-built samples that you can try, and you can even edit them so that they can work precisely to your own needs.

Expert Tip: Some PC issues are hard to tackle, especially when it comes to corrupted repositories or missing Windows files. If you are having troubles fixing an error, your system may be partially broken. We recommend installing Restoro, a tool that will scan your machine and identify what the fault is.

These automated tasks vary in complexity from simple steps to more complex workflows that can greatly save your administrator a lot of time.

Support for a wide range of platforms

When users think of servers, 90% of them probably think of Windows Server as an OS, but for the few of you that use something else, know that you will have Pulseway’s full support.

On that note, Pulseway also supports the following server OSes:

Use it from anywhere at all times

One of the main selling points of Pulseway are fully functioning native mobile apps available for both iOS and Android, which are just as feature-rich as their desktop counterparts.

This means that you can view your system’s statistics, troubleshoot and respond to any critical alert from anywhere at all times.

Keep your system safe and running

Integration with other third-party services is what keeps Pulseway going, and this includes its ability to keep entire systems and networks safe.

Pulseway can benefit from network security features brought by two major antivirus services:

Note: While it is indeed reassuring to know that two very reliable antivirus providers are integrated with Pulseway, keep in mind that their licenses need to be purchased separately from Pulsewayu2019s own license.

OS and 3rd party patch management

Pulseway doesn’t just integrate antivirus software for some added protection, it also provides you with everything you need to collaborate with your team better, and to manage a plethora of different useful programs that help your company.

Pulseway Patch Management engine supports both OS patch management as well as continuously growing 3rd party titles library, adding a new title almost every week.

You can also automate the patching process with the help of policies and schedules to keep all software in your network up to date and secure.

The app supports 148 popular titles at the moment such as Skype, Slack, Adobe, Microsoft Office, and much more.

Don’t worry if you’re using something that is not among the supported list. That’s not a problem. The Pulseway Patch Management software also supports custom third-party apps.

There is nothing that this tool cannot manage and access, enabling anyone using Pulseway Patch Management to ensure complete security of all systems and applications at all times.
