Look exactly on which folders, files or “.txt” files you are having the right click issue.

Open your Registry editor feature you have in your Windows 8.1 operating system.

Now if you have issues with the right click on a specific file type you will need to navigate to the location below and disable or delete the “contextmenuhandlers”:
Note: It is very important to make a backup copy of the registry editor keys that you will modify or delete in case something goes wrong. The location can be found in one of the paths below:

After the download of the “ShellExView” is completed you will need to run the application and let it scan your system.

When the scan is complete it will show you all the shell extensions that are in your Windows 8.1 system.

Look in the results window that shows the shell extensions and left click or tap on the “type” button in order to sort them by type.

Now scroll down until you find the context menu handlers of the system.

Find the “Autodesk Inventor” context menu handler and disable it.

After you disabled it you will need to check if you still have the same right-click issue.

If the “Autodesk Inventor” context menu handler was the cause you will need to search for the latest version and be sure to check if it is compatible with Windows 8.1

3. Fix from Registry Editor

Left click or tap on “HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT” folder situated on the left panel in the Registry Editor.

In the “Background” folder left-click or tap on “Shellex” folder.

In the “ContextMenuHandlers” folder you should have a “New” folder that is put there by default when Windows is installed. If you have any other third parties folders I suggest you make a backup copy of them and remove or disable them one by one and check if your desktop reacts to the right click action.
