Philo is another on-demand video streaming service, alongside other more popular services like Hulu, HBO Go, or Netflix. It offers similar packages to other providers, including a special package for the Educational segment.
As expected, Philo is compatible with most devices. Among these, Roku was the first equipment developer to support Philo back in 2017, on its streaming players and smart TVs.
Since starting their collaboration with Roku, Philo has improved its services, but glitches are always possible.
Why is Philo not working on Roku?
1. Roku device not supported
Keep in mind that only newer Roku media players and TVs are supported by Philo.
The list includes Roku Ultra (4660x, 4640x), Roku Streaming Stick+ (3810x), Roku Streaming Stick (3800x, 3600x), Roku Express (3900x, 3700x), Roku Express+ (3910x, 3710x), Roku Premiere+, Roku Premiere, Roku 4, Roku 3, and Roku 2 (4210x).
So if your device is older, Philo will certainly not work as it should; and it won’t even install.
2. Outdated Roku device
Check for updates as follows: in the Roku home screen, go to Settings. Hit the right button to go to System, then to System Update. Hit the right button and Check Now.
This will ensure that your Roku device has the latest software installed.
3. Connectivity glitch
If something went wrong when opening the app or when powering your Roku, this should fix it. Just restart the Roku device by unplugging it and then plugging it back in.
If you’ve read up to here and the issue has not been solved, don’t forget that it can always be a problem on the side of the developer so you might want to contact them as well.
